This animated explainer video was created for BMO to introduce AdviceDirect, an online wealth management platform designed to help customers invest with more confidence. The video highlights how the platform combines self-directed investing with access to licensed advisors, creating a hybrid experience that simplifies investing for everyday users.
Objective
The goal was to explain how AdviceDirect works while making a complex financial product feel clear and approachable. The video needed to highlight key features—such as trade impact analysis, unbiased recommendations, advisor support, and continuous portfolio monitoring—in a way that was easy for customers to understand.


Challenge
Wealth management platforms can be difficult to communicate visually due to the amount of financial data and technical terminology involved. The challenge was transforming these complex concepts into a simple, engaging visual story that maintained clarity while still reflecting BMO’s professional brand.

Process
Using After Effects and Photoshop, I designed and animated a motion graphics explainer that combined product visuals, UI elements, and clear messaging. The animation guided viewers through the platform’s key features and benefits, using clean transitions and structured storytelling to keep the experience intuitive and engaging.


Result
The AdviceDirect video supported BMO’s broader marketing efforts to promote the platform across digital and internal channels. By simplifying the product’s capabilities into an accessible narrative, the animation helped increase awareness and build confidence in the platform’s investing tools while maintaining alignment with BMO’s brand voice.
